The Site's History

The site is of recent origins. A group of avid, visionary, Lower Mainland cyclists got together during the summer of 2007. Their common passion was and is to participate in cycling that is noncompetitive, socially driven, paced such that cyclists enjoy the passing of the scenery and take comfort that a water tap, washroom or store is up ahead.

There is an open invitation to those of you that are like minded and want to pedal around Vancouver's Seawall, a Surrey to Tsawwassen Boundary Bay run or a Vancouver Island Galloping Goose cruise.

Welcome to the B.C. Leisure Cycling Website. This site provides you with a number of resources and links to enhance your leisure cycling experience in the province of British Columbia.
Activities

A group of us can get together on a regular basis to plan bicycle outings or trips. Socially, some of us get together 3 to 5 times a week just to hit the pavement for a few hours. Yes many of us are retired or on a sabbatical!

This site suggests cycling routes to those of you living in the Lower Mainland (or just visiting) looking for rides that are, away from car traffic, have lots of pavement, reasonably level, leisurely stroking of pedals, close to such things as drinking water, washrooms and variety stores.

So if your interest has been tweaked to join us for a cycle around town, drop us an email. As a minimum may the resources of this site add some spice to your cycling life!
